How long do you play for?
Our minimum booking is one hour, although most events require longer performances. We tailor every booking to suit your schedule and can programme our music to complement each stage of your event
How much does it cost to hire Splanky?
Every event is unique, so we provide a personalised quotation based on your requirements. Factors such as performance duration, travel and venue location are all taken into account. Please get in touch and we’ll be happy to provide a no-obligation quote
Do you need electricity?
No. Splanky performs acoustically, so we don’t require power for most events. This makes us ideal for venues both indoors and outdoors. If you have something different in mind, we’d be happy to discuss the options
How much space do you need?
We require approximately 4m×2m (12ft×6ft) to accommodate four musicians, eight saxophones and four music stands comfortably
Do you need chairs?
Yes please. Four armless chairs are ideal, preferably flat
Do you have loud speakers?
Our performances are usually completely acoustic, so we don’t normally use microphones or loudspeakers. If amplification is required for your event, please let us know and we’ll be happy to discuss the options
Can we request specific music?
Absolutely. Our repertoire covers jazz, swing, classical, film music, contemporary pop and much more. If there’s a particular style or piece you’d like included, please let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request
Will you move between different locations during the event?
We’re happy to perform in more than one location where timings allow. As we perform seated with music stands and multiple instruments, we’ll simply need sufficient time to relocate and set up between performances
Do you perform outdoors?
Yes, we’re happy to perform outdoors. We simply ask for suitable shelter in wet weather and shade during very hot conditions. Whilst we are waterproof, our instruments, sheet music and equipment are not!
What do you wear?
We dress appropriately for every occasion, whether that’s elegant concert attire, formal evening wear or a dress code that complements your event. A dressing room would be lovely, but is not essential
How far do you travel?
Based in Gloucestershire, we regularly perform throughout the Cotswolds and are willing to travel across the UK. If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, just ask
